Kate Roberts, PhD, MDiv, LCSW

Kate Roberts, PhD, MDiv, LCSW, is a Deputy Director in behavioral health policy at Aurrera Health, where she supports state and local initiatives focused on low-barrier access to substance use treatment and systems-level implementation. Her work centers on reducing structural barriers to care and strengthening evidence-based behavioral health delivery across policy and practice settings. Prior to joining Aurrera Health, Kate worked at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where she supported the implementation of an inpatient addiction medicine consult service and contributed to the development of North Carolina’s first hub-and-spoke treatment model. She has published peer-reviewed research and contributed to behavioral health training and policy development efforts. A licensed clinical social worker, Kate brings nearly a decade of direct service experience across mental health and substance use treatment settings. She holds a PhD in social work and social science research from Bryn Mawr College, an MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MA in religion with a focus on bioethics from Duke University.
