CQC’s Peter Robertson Appointed to National CMS Technical Expert Panel and Board of Cal Healthcare Compare

Guiding the future of health care quality improvement and transparency

Oakland, CA, June 6, 2025 – Peter Robertson, Senior Director of Practice Transformation at the California Quality Collaborative (CQC), has been selected to serve on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) QRS/QIS Technical Expert Panel (TEP) and appointed to the Board of Cal Healthcare Compare.

Bringing deep expertise in quality measurement and leading technical assistance programs, Robertson joins a select group of national experts advising the CMS Quality Rating System (QRS) and Quality Improvement Strategy (QIS). Convened by Booz Allen Hamilton, the panel provides strategic input on performance measurement, methodology and public engagement for Qualified Health Plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace, shaping how millions of Americans evaluate their coverage options.

In California, Robertson has also been appointed to the Board of Cal Healthcare Compare, a nonprofit dedicated to helping Californians make more informed decisions about hospitals and long-term care providers. In this role, he provides strategic guidance in support of the organization’s mission to promote transparency and improve care quality through accessible, data-driven tools.

At CQC, Robertson leads large-scale technical assistance initiatives that support primary care teams in strengthening care delivery, including employing equity-focused quality improvement strategies, integrating behavioral health, adopting virtual care tools and managing chronic disease. The dual appointments reflect both his expertise and CQC’s longstanding and trusted position at the intersection of quality, innovation and systems-level change.
